Burger King’s Original Chicken sandwich recipe, also known as OCS, has been a staple of the fast food industry since 1979.

The sandwich came to life after Burger King introduced its line of specialty sandwiches back in the 1970s.

BK created the specialty line of sandwiches to expand its menu with more sophisticated offerings.

They probably wanted to be known for more than just great tasting beef burgers.

Since its founding in 1978, Burger King’s line of specialty sandwiches has introduced a number of delicious sandwiches to its lineup of offerings.

However, Burger King has removed all specialty sandwiches from its menu, except for the Original Chicken Sandwich, which they still sell and serve today at all BK locations both nationally and internationally.

According to several sources, Burger King markets and sells the OCS under several brand names around the world, such as the BK Chicken, Chicken Royal, and Long Chicken.

From time to time, the chain releases limited time variants that have different ingredients or toppings.

But only the Original Chicken Sandwich can withstand the test of time in my opinion.

How Many Calories in Burger King’s Chicken Sandwich

BK’s chicken sandwich has 660 calories. Exactly the same number of calories as the chain’s popular Whopper sandwich.

The Original Chicken Sandwich has 40 grams of fat. Of those 40 grams, 7 grams come from saturated fat, which really isn’t much considering the high fat content of the sandwich.

Burger King’s OCS does not contain trans fat, which is a type of fat considered unhealthy because it raises levels of bad cholesterol. So that’s good news for anyone who’s craving a chicken sandwich from Burger King.

BK’s OCS also contains lots of carbs. At 48 grams of carbohydrates per sandwich, you’re almost guaranteed to gain weight if you start eating them on a regular basis.

Best Tips:

  • Enjoy in moderation.
  • Or avoid altogether if you suffer from a serious medical condition that doesn’t allow you to eat certain foods.

In case you were wondering, the Original Chicken sandwich has 28 grams of protein.

OCS Recipe

The Original Chicken Sandwich is made with lightly breaded white meat chicken, lettuce, and mayo on a sesame seed bun.

But you can customize it however you want.

Customizing it will probably increase its calorie count, so keep that in mind when adding ingredients.
